Joshua Collingsworth Memorial Foundation Hosting a Wine, Art and Dessert Event
Lincoln, Neb. – The Joshua Collingsworth Memorial Foundation is hosting a Wine, Art and Dessert Event from 6-10pm on Friday, November 4, 2011 at Wilderness Ridge in Lincoln. Nearly 50 local artists and pastry chefs have contributed to the night’s silent auction. Original art pieces, handmade jewelry, cakes, and cupcakes are just a few examples of what will be displayed in the grand ballroom where the auction will take place.
There will also be a wine tasting due to the generous donation from Mark McDonald, owner of the Italian Vine Wine Distributors. Dean Michaels, the national sales manager for Southern Wine Group will present 6 wines from Argentina. The wines include: Alberti 154 Torrontes, Durigutti Bonarda, Alberti 154 Malbec, Durigutti Cabernet Sauvignon, Don Martino Old Vine Malbec, and Durigutti Malbec Reserve.
Organizers hope the event will help raise awareness of drowning as the number one cause of accidental death for children ages 1 – 4. Each day in the United States, 10 children die from drowning incidents. Thousands more survive, but suffer serious injuries and brain damage in near drowning incidents. The funds raised from the event will be used to produce and distribute Josh the Otter Water Safety and Awareness Project materials to further reach more young children locally and around the world. All in an effort to save lives. The foundation was created in honor of two-year-old Joshua Collingsworth, who died from a local drowning incident in 2008.
To purchase tickets to the event, please RSVP to kathy@joshuamemorial.org or call 402-730-3232. The price of admission is $35.00. Media are encouraged and welcomed to attend. For more information please visit www.joshtheotter.org. Below is a complete list of community art and dessert donors.
