May 20th was a night we will never forget at the Joshua Collingsworth Memorial Foundation. We had our 3rd Annual Joshua Collingsworth Memorial Benefit Dinner & Auction in Lincoln, Nebraska. Nerves are commonplace prior to a large event such as this, wondering if the community would participate in strong force for our most important fundraiser of the year. Well they did. With over 30 volunteers & around 250 people, our nerves were replaced with overwhelming gratitude. As board member and keynote speaker summed up perfectly, "There is a lot of love in this room tonight, we can all feel it." The evening included silent, high silent, and live auctions, dinner, awards presentation, videos, and entertainment by the local improv group "Lip-Schtick". There were over 250 items donated for the event by local businesses & generous supporters. The high intensity of the evening came from the Live Auction with the highest auction item going for nearly $5,500! As a small, young organization trying to make a difference around the world, that night refilled our engines with even more fuel to press forward on our unwavering vision to eliminate drowning from occurring around the world. We could not exist, expand, and reach our goals without support from our communities around the country. However, May 20th reminded us again just how wonderful of a state we live in. In closing, we hope that we can convey just how thankful we are to the volunteers & attendees that helped make the 3rd year even better than before. We are finalizing our total made from the benefit & will report our findings as soon as the numbers are compiled. Think BIG! Together we can save lives!

On June 10th, 140 golfers & volunteers arrived at the Wilderness Ridge Golf Course bright & early to kick off our 3rd Annual Joshua Collingsworth Memorial Golf Tournament. A few University of Nebraska Lincoln favorites attended, including former UNL football player Tommie Frazier & current UNL Men's Basketball coach Doc Sadler. Shotgun was at 10:00am & the golfers were on the course for over 5 hours, minus the 2 hour rain delay. While the weather was not ideal, the golf tournament brought in over $6,000 for the foundation! Everyone still had a lot of fun, dancing in the rain, hanging out at the outdoor tent BBQ, and enjoying the company of their fellow team members & volunteers serving food & drinks along the course. From generous golfers, local hole sponsors, Mulligan sales & a smaller scale silent auction, the foundation will once again be able to benefit more children locally & around the county by providing children with free drowning prevention educational materials & programs to keep them safe in and around water. The event concluded around 5pm with the disbursement of trophies, flag prizes, and the announcement of silent auction winners. On behalf of the entire Joshua Collingsworth Memorial Foundation team...THANK YOU!
